The Church is not a building – it is the body of believers working together to glorify the name of Jesus and help others learn to do the same. With this in mind, Southside Church strives to be a body of believers who serve one another in love. Footsteps Counseling Center Footsteps Counseling, located in the Courthouse Road building, offers confidential counseling and support systems which are professional, competent, and distinctively Christian. Counseling services are available to adults, couples, families, children, and teenagers of all faiths and walks of life to help them discover and use their own God-given strengths and resources which will help them through difficult times.
Guardian Christian Academy Guardian Christian Academy partners with parents to provide their children with a distinctly Biblical and academically excellent education that will equip students to be Godly leaders and to successfully engage the culture for Christ. GCA is pleased to partner with parents in the educating of their children and offers several programs designed to meet the needs and interests of families in our community.
The Oasis Cafe The Oasis Café at the Courthouse Campus offers a variety of menus available for purchase on a daily basis. Proceeds from the Café go directly to support our local serve projects, The XZone, college scholarships, and our world missions work in the Church of the Nazarene. You can support missions through the Café:
- By purchasing before the Sunday services as this goes directly to support missionary work in the Church of the Nazarene.
- By purchasing food or drinks through the week.
- Volunteering time at the Cafe.
XZone The XZone is recognized as a Nazarene Compassionate Global Ministry Site. XZone provides a safe and dynamic place for students to learn, grow, and develop into productive citizens while preventing the development of at-risk behaviors.

Adult and Student Mission Trips to Kilmarnock As part of our mission to serve the residents of Virginia, regional mission trips are organized to service specific needs as they come to our attention. Southside Church has established a missional relationship with the residents of the Kilmarnock, Virginia area and, during the year, adults and students partner with local businesses to provide repair work to various homes in the Kilmarnock area.
Angel Tree Want to be like Jesus? Then give a gift of love! Every Christmas, Southside partners with the Salvation Army Angel Tree to minister to the hearts and minds of at-risk children by purchasing and delivering gifts during the Christmas season.
Cell Phones for Soldiers Cell Phones for Soldiers hopes to turn old cell phones into more than 12 million minutes of prepaid calling cards for U.S. troops stationed overseas in 2008. To do so, Cell Phones for Soldiers expects to collect 50,000 cell phones each month through a network of more than 3,000 collection sites across the country.
Health Center of Chesterfield Do you just love to buy baby stuff? The Health Center of Chesterfield is always accepting donations of new clothing, formula and other baby items. Items are collected annually in January.
Jail Ministry Looking for a way to truly make a difference? Although many women at the Chesterfield Diversion Center are finding hope and healing through the weekly worship services run by dedicated Southside volunteers, there are other opportunities for you to bless these women.
Lucy Corr Worship Services Want a great way to spend an afternoon? By volunteering just one day every other month, you can be part of hosting a fantastic worship service for the elderly. Your visit with residents at Lucy Corr can provide much desired fellowship, ministry and conversation.
Monroe Parke Homeless Mission On any given day, over a thousand people experience homelessness in the Richmond area. Many have mental health problems, over 20% are veterans and, yes, there are homeless children. While there are many places to serve the homeless, Southside Church of The Nazarene has chosen Monroe Park as its location to serve. We take food, water, clothing, and fellowship to the park every other month. It is a ministry that is enjoyed by adults, teens, and children. These mission trips occur about once every six weeks.
Southside Church is a mission minded body of believers. Throughout the year we focus on specific areas of worldwide need in an effort to raise funds to support projects and supply items to people in areas where we minister in the name of Jesus Christ.
Nazarene Compassionate Ministries offers you an opportunity to sponsor a child in need . NCM strives to minister to the whole person in a needy world with the hope of Jesus. Crisis Care Kits
You may bring items at anytime to drop-off boxes (located in the SERVE area of the front lobby) to contribute to personal hygiene kits. Kits will be packaged and sent to areas that have experienced disaster and distributed to those in need.
Gifts From the Heart
At any time of the year, you may fill out a “Gifts from the Heart” card to send a monetary gift to support the medical and retirement needs of Nazarene missionaries. Cards can be found for free at The Streams Bookstore.
Loving Interested Nazarenes Knowing Sharing (LINKS) provides a “link” between our church and a Nazarene family serving on the mission field. A different family is provided every two years for us to love through gifts and notes of encouragement and prayer.
Medical Mission Trips to the Domincan Republic
In an effort to provide medical and dental care while at the same time sharing the Gospel with the citizens of the Dominican Republic, Southside has partnered with a local Dominican church. Through a coordinated effort, teams of people fly out twice a year including medical professionals, interpretors, prayer partners and administrators. The goal of each trip is to meet both the physical and spiritual needs of the people of the Dominican Republic.
