Blessing
When we believe in Jesus and belong to the body of Christ, we become disciples who reflect His teachings and will bring others to Him, allowing us to be a blessing in our world. This is how we embody the essence of a Christ-like disciple and live out the B.L.E.S.S. lifestyle. Our commitment is demonstrated through the various ways Southside Church has addressed the needs of Chesterfield over the years, engaging in meaningful and tangible efforts. On an individual level, the B.L.E.S.S. acronym provides a framework for those who embody Christlikeness and consider Southside Church their home. It serves as a guide for how we can love our neighbors:
Begin with prayer – Mark 1:35 Jesus prayed every morning – John 17 Jesus prayed for you Romans 8:34 he intercedes on our behalf
Listen - Mark 10:46-52 Jesus asked questions and listened to their stories
Eat – John 21:12 prepared a meal for the disciples, eats with others
Serve - Matthew 23:11 Jesus' words to his disciples
Share our story – 1 Peter 3:15
B.L.E.S.S. is not an event or a program; it is a simple framework that encourages those who love Jesus to genuinely care for others.
Believing in Jesus and belonging to His body leads us to become Christ-like disciples who bring others to Him, live out the B.L.E.S.S. lifestyle, and serve our community in meaningful ways through Southside Church.
